Yesterday was a crazy day. After running errands in the morning I met my boyfriend and some of his class mates at the Hofbräuhaus in the city for a late lunch. I arrived at about 3 (they had already been there since 1pm) there was already wine on the table. After we moved in side because it was starting to get cold in the beer garden we then carried on with the wine. At 7pm we managed to rope in 2 german men who where having after work drinks onto our table who then insisted in buying everyone shots (4 rounds of them, I didn't have any of them because it was a nasty cherry flavored drink that tasted like cough syrup, plus I make it a BIG point to not take any shots from men who I have just met who seem a little TOO happy to give women large quantity of spirits in 10 minutes). At 10pm when we left for the Reeperbahn everyone was starting to feel very happy (very VERY drunk)and then made it to a few clubs before heading home at 2am. This morning was not so bad after I only had a few glasses of wine but everyone else who had been drinking for 12hrs was bad. A tale of woe to everyone.

Grey Day

After spending the last 2 days rushing around getting a new mobile, travel pass and spending 3 nights in a row out late (i got home at 12am last night again) so after it being all hectic I liked having a very slow day today at home getting on with things I have been putting off doing. I have had another shopping trip to pick up some stuff I needed (I may do a haul video to show you what I bought).

I have started to wear jeans because I still haven't got use to the cold yet. In Perth I tried not to wear jeans and trousers when I wasn't at work so I got use to wearing skirts and dresses with tights but in Hamburg it is still very cold and not many women wear skirts or dresses. After being out for the past few day I noticed that the uniform of choice is jacket, jeans, boots or sneakers (they love there converse all stars) but also trying to find skirts in the shops is very difficult I have found that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I bought myself another pair of shoes because I have had to get rid of a pair of my boots because they caused me so much pain with blisters, my other shoes I am going to wear the hidden wedge out if I don't give them a brake and my plimsolls are not waterproof so they get wet and smelly easily. So when I was passing by a cheap shoe shop yesterday and saw the €5 sale sign I had to take a look and these fo-leather high top sneakers caught my attention that I had to snap them up. I have had them on all day today after doing my food shopping and they are very comfy. A good investment of money.

Haircut

Yesterday I took the plunge and had my hair cut short (and re- bleached). I was so sick of my long hair but I am still not convinced yet if I like it. I think that it isn't short enough at the back and sides but the hairdresser didn't speak much english and was a little hesitant to cut it relay short. I will leave it for a few weeks to settle and if I sill don't like it I will get it more of a pixie cut like this.

my hidden wedge sneakers. I'm in love with them. so comfy to walk in and make you taller and your legs look better. wish that I had another pair like the h&m white ones or if i didn't need to eat for 3 months these or these.

1st time swing dancing in Hamburg

This afternoon I went swing dancing for the first time in Hamburg (thank you New Generation). It was quite an ordeal to get there but when I finally got there it was so cool. 1st it was in this big green house that was so dilapidated inside (hipster dilapidated) with cool couches and cafe tables. When I finally got there everyone was having tea and homemade cakes and socializing. The dance rooms where small so balboa was very popular. Something that was very different was that there where so many children running around on the dance floor. But very cool with the DJ spinning vinyl to dance too.

It was fun to dance with new leads. The style of Hamburg and Perth are very different so at first it took a lot of concentrating and after that I just went with the flow. Next Sunday I will do it all again.

Yesterday I made a trip into the city to go to H&M to get another jumper and fell in love with this knit jumper for €10! I saw it on the Stylish Dutchman and had to run out the next day to get it. You would not guess that the jumper is so super warm from looking at it. In the evening my boyfriend and I went to karaoke with some of his school friends on the Reeperbahn. It was a very fun night but coming home at 4am takes a tole on you when you haven't had a drink in a year.

Coming from working for 6 years without much of a break I am starting to find not working very difficult. I have started to get into a routine to keep myself motivated with studying. I also have to force myself to change out of my pj's to make it seem like I am going to work somewhere even if it is just to sit at the kitchen table.

Long time no see.

I am in Germany . After the stress of giving up work and packing up my life into 6 storage boxes I am finally in Germany with my boyfriend. I have one suitcase of clothes and a computer and that is all the possessions I own. We have started our adventure in Hamburg, somewhere that I think I am falling in love with, with a little apartment while we study and start getting use to a sort of home life. I have unfortunately missed the student admissions for March for the language schools (unless I want to pay for private tutors, no thank you) so am spending my days studying on Livemocha to try to get the jump on my classes next month.

I am trying to stick with a very limited budget to try and make my money stretch as far as possible so I am scrutinizing everything I buy to see if I relay need it (no frivolity in shopping) so I am going to find lots of ways to wear my wardrobe. I have brought a large case of makeup to give my look a little style kick without having to buy any clothes but we don't have H&M in Australia so it is very hard to pull myself out of there with it all being very cheap.

I am starting to get to the stage where I am wanting short hair back. It always happens around April- May when my hair gets to my shoulders. It gets so a stage where I have had it up in ponytails and buns for the summer when it has been hot and it has stopped being wavy. Also at the moment I have had to blow dry it every time I wash it to get it dry and it just ends up looking bla. But my German is in no way at any stage that I could go into a salon and ask for a hair cut so I will have to just put up with it.
