How not to Lindy

(picture from Hullabaloo Charleston competition)

I am now recovering from Hullabaloo with a sore shoulder, blistered feet and lack of sleep but very happy. Now I have this weekend to recover and get my house in a livable order so I can start to craft to my hearts content.

Long Time No See

(all photos taken in my new very 70's bathroom- that I love)

I have been neglecting my blog during the last week because I have been frantically moving house and busy cleaning my old house. I also have no Internet at my place and will not have it for another week or so (am going completely mad without it). Last night was the first night of Hullabaloo and was a western themed night so I pulled out my trusty western check shirt and best pair of jeans and dances my ass off. (more photos of Hullabaloo and my new place to come soon)

I have a new place to live. Now comes the packing and moving part, the bad part (luckily it's only 5min away from where I live now) then the unpacking and decorating, the good part.

Bea Szenfeld

I have been a fan of her since she was on Fashion House in 2003 not only for her designs but also for her personal vintage style. She always looks so cute.

40's Turban

Remember this photo from last Saturday? A turban is a really easy way to get a 40's home front look in no time and the least amount of effort. The turban, like the snood, are iconic peaces of WWII head wear that where an everyday practical way of keeping back your hair while they worked (I have a photo of a grate grate aunt in the 40's wearing one) but seeing that rationing meant the ordinary woman couldn't have hats it was cheep, only needing a large peace of fabric or (as bellow) knitted and accessorized with anything at hand if a more dressy look was wanted.
